A.B. Taylor Prize

Professor A.B. Taylor, Professor of English at the University of Tasmania from 1926 to 1957, established this prize in 1933 for English I, to the value of two guineas. From 1946 to 1956 he presented annually the amount of three guineas for one of the subjects English IIIA and English IIIB. In the year 1957 Professor Taylor offered to endow this prize and donated a sum of 100 pounds for this purpose.



Awarded to the candidate who at first attempt has shown the greatest proficiency, with at least a Distinction average, in level 300 English.
