The W.J. Gerlach Honours Scholarship in Geography was established at UTAS in the 1980s by the late William John Gerlach, a former teacher at the Hutchins School. It was his intention to encourage study in Geography and Mathematics (for which there is another scholarship) at advanced level.

Awarded to the student with the best undergraduate KGA results who is enrolled in the Geography Honours course. The student will have completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Tasmania.
