Edward Stokes Prize

Awarded to the student in the study of level 200 and/or level 300 English, showing the greatest proficiency in units involving a substantial study of American fiction. The student must have received a Distinction or better and not previously presented for examination in the unit(s) concerned.

FGN Ewence Memorial Prize

Awarded to the most outstanding student in English and Creative writing level 300 units who is enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Education.

Freddy Dayan Prize in French

Awarded annually to the student obtaining the best result in French 1B (HEF102).

Helen Hodgman Prize for Creative Writing

Awarded to the student with the highest achievement in an English unit (HEN code) which has creative writing as its primary focus. This unit may be at 200, 300 or 400 level.

James McAuley Memorial Prize

Awarded to the best student (High Distinction average) in 200 level English.

Awarded to the most outstanding student in English Honours (level 400), with First Class Honours.

Sir Philip Fysh Prize

Awarded to the best student in level 200 English who has passed with a Higher Distinction or Distinction.

TATE Prize in Excellence in English Learning

Awarded for the best result in first year English (25% 100 level English units) achieved by a student enrolled in 100-level English in Semester 1 and Semester 2 who has successfully completed at least one pre-tertiary English course in Tasmania (TCE).

The Kenneth Waters Herodotean Prize

Awarded annually to the candidate who has shown the greatest proficiency in classical historiography in an intermediate or advanced Ancient Civilisations unit, and who [i] has not previously presented for examination in that unit; and [ii] has obtained at least pass with Distinction in that unit.
