Tasmanian School of Medicine Elective Prize (Outside Australia)

This prize is generously supported by the School of Medicine at the University of Tasmania. Awarded annually to the final year medical student in the MBBS who produces the best written report of an elective outside Australia.

The closing date is on the 1st of August each year, 5 pm (AEST).

 

Eligibility

Final year medical students will be eligible for the award provided they have not already been awarded any elective award administered by the School of Medicine. Recipients will be required to do a brief presentation on their experience.

The School of Medicine reserves the right not to award a prize if the quality is insufficient.

Applicants will also be assessed for the Kathleen Menzies Elective Essay Prize.

1. To apply for these prizes you must produce

a report, 2,000-5,000 words upon returning from

your elective, covering an interesting aspect or

theme of your experience.

2. Selection Criteria:

Fulfils the basic requirement of 2,000-5,000

words in length , and addresses one issue related

to the elective

Displays high levels of reflection and analysis

Writing style, grammar and spelling

Creativity
