Awarded to the candidate who at first attempt has shown the greatest proficiency, with at least a Distinction average, in level 300 English.

Aboriginal Studies Essay Prize: Best Essay at 100 Level

Awarded annually for the best essay by a first year student completing either Level 100 Aboriginal Studies units. To be eligible for the prize the student must be in their first year of study.

Aboriginal Studies Prize (First Year)

Awarded annually to the first year student who achieves the highest aggregate mark in first year Aboriginal Studies units. To be eligible for the prize the student must be in their first year of study and have completed both first year Aboriginal Studies units.

Aboriginal Studies Prize (Graduand)

Awarded annually to the graduand with the highest aggregate results in Aboriginal Studies units who has completed an Aboriginal Studies major in the year the award is made.

Alfred Houston Intermediate Prize

Awarded to a second year Philosophy student who shows the greatest proficiency with at least a Distinction average in units comprising 37.5% at 200 level in Philosophy.

Alfred Houston Junior Prize

Awarded to the student with the greatest proficiency in Philosophy 1 and who obtains a pass with Higher Distinction in that unit.

Alfred Houston Senior Prize

Awarded to a third year Philosophy student showing the greatest proficiency with at least a Distinction average in units comprising 50% at 300 level in Philosophy.

Arthur and Grace Hutchin Memorial Prize

Awarded to a mature age student showing the greatest proficiency in English 1, and who has obtained at least a pass with Distinction and who has not previously presented for examination.

Awarded to the most outstanding non-native German speaking student in German Language Skills 3B (HEG303).

Awarded to the most promising non-native German speaking student in German Language Skills 3A (HEG301).

Helen Hodgman Prize for Creative Writing

Awarded to the student with the highest achievement who is enrolled in an English unit (HEA code) which has creative writing as its primary focus. This unit may be at 200, 300 or 400 level.

Awarded annually to the student who shows greatest proficiency in the unit English 1.

Indonesian Language Prize

Awarded for highest achievement in the unit HMN102 Indonesian 1B. Recipient must have completed all requirements of the unit and received a final grade of at least a Distinction. Students with a breach of academic integrity will not be considered.
