Energy Bonus Prize

Awarded to the student the student who has given the best overall performance in third year French, German, Indonesian, Chinese or Japanese units

Awarded to the student showing the greatest proficiency in the level 100 Latin units and who has not presented previously for examination and who has passed with High Distinction or Distinction.

FGN Ewence Memorial Prize

Awarded to the most outstanding student in English and Creative writing level 300 units who is enrolled in a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Education.

Freddy Dayan Prize in French

Awarded annually to the student obtaining the best result in French 1B (HEF102).

Awarded to the student at 300 level who has the best combination of results in any 200-300 level units of Australian history, and who has completed a major assignment in the field of Tasmanian history at Distinction level or above.

Awarded to a guitar student from first or second- year in the Jazz & Popular Music stream with the highest average grade across all units for the academic year

Awarded to a student from first or second year in the Songwriter stream with the highest average grade across all units for the academic year

Helen Hodgman Prize for Creative Writing

Awarded to the student with the highest achievement in an English unit (HEN code) which has creative writing as its primary focus. This unit may be at 200, 300 or 400 level.

Indonesian Language Prize

Awarded for highest achievement in the unit HMN102 Indonesian 1B. Recipient must have completed all requirements of the unit and received a final grade of at least a Distinction. Students with a breach of academic integrity will not be considered.

Launceston Historical Society History Prize

Awarded for the best History essay written in the year by a student enrolled at Launceston on-campus in first year History, HTA101 or HTA102.

Margaret Stoermer Prize for best Third-Year or Honours Performer

Awarded for best performance by a third-year or Honours student in Jazz/Popular Music/Songwriter or Classical Performance at the Conservatorium of Music.

The nomination of Jazz/Popular Music/Songwriter students will alternate yearly with that of Classical Performance students.

Margaret Young Memorial Chinese Language Prize (HMC102)

Awarded for the highest achievement in unit HMC102 Chinese 1B

Recipients must have completed all requirements of the unit and received a final grade of at least a Distinction.

The prize can be jointly awarded at the discretion of the school.

Awarded to the student who has shown the greatest proficiency in an Asian Studies unit offered by the School of Humanities at level 200 or 300 (provided that no candidate may be awarded at both levels). The unit must include a component of Asian History.

Awarded annually to the student who shows the greatest overall proficiency in a Masters or Doctorate higher degree program in Psychology. Only candidates who have completed the requirements for a Masters or Doctorate higher degree program shall be eligible for the award of the prize.
