Gurdip K. Sindhu Prize in Paediatrics

Mrs Gurdip K. Sindhu has made a gift of $10,000 to the University of Tasmania to fund an annual prize in paediatrics for the best graduating student in the discipline in the Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery course.

Mrs Sindhu has had a long interest in encouraging excellence in paediatrics both as a practicising nurse and midwife, while she lived in India, and as wife to eminent paediatrician, the late Dr Santokh Sindhu who taught in the area over many years in the UTAS School of Medicine.

 

Eligibility

Awarded to the fourth year MBBS student who achieves the highest aggregate mark in the paediatric components of the fourth year exams. Award is made in the year following the achievement.
